A single bouquet of flowers marks the spot where an unidentified 30 year old good samaritan lost his life, following an attempted robbery on Monday. According to KABC-7 four teenagers ranging in age from 13 to 16, had arranged to meet a man who was looking to sell a  Nintendo DS game system. The good samaritan witnessed the incident, and when he tried to stop the robbery with a baseball bat, he was shot in the torso. He later died at a nearby hospital. The seller of the video game was also shot, but he is expected to recover from the shooting.

Brenda Paloma who lives nearby at the Park Sierra Apartments, tells The Canyon Connection, "It's scary. When I heard the police cars I put my kids inside. It's not safe here." Paloma who has lived in Canyon Country for about a year, thought that this was a safe area. She has a teenage daughter who attends Golden Valley High School and now worries about living here with her daughter and other  young children. " I worry about my daughter and the other teenagers around her. We will now be moving."
